Net revenue is how much revenue you bring in directly from sales after discounts, and after taking into account refunds. Note the primary difference from gross revenue — net revenue includes refunds, so it will always be less than or equal to gross revenue. Since shipping and taxes can vary quite a bit, net revenue is a core metric that can be more easily used for comparisons across eg. products. In most of our analytics in Segments, we default to showing net revenue.

Net revenue = Gross revenue - Refunds
= (Total sales - Discounts) - Refunds

In Shopify, net revenue can be derived from subtotal_price.
